Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli on July 28, 2016, met with Sudanese Presidential Assistant Awad Ahmed al-Jaz, pledging to promote pragmatic cooperation.

Zhang called for the full use of the bilateral energy cooperation committee to consolidate cooperation in oil and gas, and expand cooperation in agriculture, industrial capacity, mining and renewable energy.

Al-Jaz said Sudan-China ties have seen sound development and Sudan is willing to participate in the Belt and Road initiative and deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields.
