HIGH-FLYING AIRSHIPS TO PROBE ATMOSPHERE

A giant helium-filled airship called Jimu 1 docks at the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

 

The Jimu 1, has a volume of 2,300 cubic meters and contains 1,400 kilograms of helium. Its surface is made of composite fabric that can withstand temperatures as low as -70 C, according to the airship's creator. Most of the components were made in China.
