On May 4th, 2023, Governor Aminu Bello Masari visited the Danja Dam in Katsina State, accompanied by the Commissioner for Water Resources in Katsina State, Alhaji Musa Adamu Funtua, Agricultural Special Adviser Dr. Abba Yakubu Abdallah, and the supervising engineers. During the visit, he inspected all components of the project.
At the dam site, Katsina State Commissioner for Water Resources, Alhaji Musa Adamu Funtua, presented a report to the governor, introducing the main dam, spillway, access roads, and intake tower of the project. He praised the dam project for greatly promoting social and economic activities in the region and its surrounding areas.
Governor Masari expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the project, the quality of the engineering, and the contractors' commitments. Specifically, he fully recognized the quality of the main spillway, dam construction, and intake tower and the progress of the construction.
The Katsina State Danja Dam is contracted by MCG and consists of a 50 million cubic meter capacity water storage dam and supporting irrigation and water supply system facilities. Once completed, it will greatly alleviate the region's water needs and promote social and economic activities in the area.
