Construction work on the China Mobile (Xinjiang) data center began in the Karamay Cloud Computing Industrial Park. It is expected to become the largest data center in China's northwest region.

According to the project's plan, the center will occupy an area of 11.27 hectares. The first-stage of construction will cover an area of 39,000 square meters and is expected to be put into operation in 2016.

The data center will provide cloud data services to China and Central Asian regions.
